The Daily Herald / Culinary critic wins trip to St. Maarten

AMSTERDAM--Just Krijn of the Dutch city of Den Bosch is the winner of the culinary critic trip to St. Maarten, organised by St. Maarten Tourist Bureau in the Netherlands.
Krijn and some 1,800 other persons had registered as culinary critics on the Dutch restaurant review website www.iens.nl, co-organiser of the competition. The prize was a nine-day trip to St. Maarten where the winner would review a number of restaurants.
St. Maarten Tourist Bureau in the Netherlands and the website www.iens.nl were very satisfied with the response to the action. "The action with www.iens.nl was a perfect opportunity for us to promote the culinary aspect of St. Maarten. With some 400 restaurants, St. Maarten can rightfully claim its position as the culinary capital of the Caribbean," said Bart Schüller of St. Maarten Tourist Bureau.
Schüller said the tourist bureau was eager about the experiences of the winner. "We look out for his reviews. The participating restaurants will undoubtedly welcome him with open arms and treat him to their culinary surprises," he said.
Winner Krijn was also enthusiastic about his upcoming trip. "The more I read and hear about it, the more it becomes alive for me and the more I look forward to going," he said. The winner was announced at the Amsterdam boat show HISWA 2010, which was held in IJmuiden last week.
